Install the AfterShip Protection Widget on BigCommerce

AfterShip Protection protects your business and your customers' shipments as they fly across the globe with world-class shipping insurance. To enable AfterShip Protection on your BigCommerce store, you need to install the AfterShip Protection widget on your store. You can either connect with our support team to get the widget installed or do it yourself. This article will guide you to install the Protection widget yourself.

Apply for access to the AfterShip Protection onboarding.
Fill in the form to tell us basic information about your business.
If you get qualified as per AfterShip Protection's eligibility criteria, finish the onboarding steps.
Install the AfterShip Protection widget to you store
If you would like us to install it for you, invite our expert to your store with the following steps:
Email: someone@aftership.com
Psw: You can setup and tell us the psw
User Role: Custom
Sales Staff Permissions: Manager Channels
Sales Manager Permissions: Edit Channels, Manager Products
System Admin Permissions: Use Script Manager
Our expert will install the AfterShip Protection widget for you.
If you would like to install the protection widget yourself, you can install it with the following steps:
Compare the screenshot below to make sure you haven't done extreme customization on their checkout page. Since our script is based on the initial checkout template, some modifications may not be compatible with our script.
If your checkout page is highly customized, you can contact us at sy.li@aftership.com for the installation assistance.
If your store is using the general checkout page, you can insert the protection widget yourself.
Go to Products and then select View from the side menu in your BigCommerce admin
Search aftership protection in the search bar. You will see AfterShip Protection as a product show up.
Insert script
Go to Channel Manager > Storefronts (BigCommerce Theme) > Edit Settings
Go to Script manager > Create a script
Create a new script with the following info
Noted: We would suggest you to choose 'Essential' Script category so that the protection widget won't be blocked by the cookies acceptance.
You can exclude the Protection product from coupons and discounts so that your customer can pay the correct amount of the protection. Refer to the additional resources section for more information.

If you would like us to install it for you, invite our expert to your store with the following steps:
Step 1. Go to Account Settings > Users > Create a User Account
Step 2. Create an account for us with the following permissions:
Email: someone@aftership.com
Psw: You can setup and tell us the psw
User Role: Custom

Step 2. Insert Protection widget script in your BigCommerce admin

Placement: Header
Location: Checkout
Script category: Essential
Script type: Script
