Our AI utilizes the last 30 days of Shopify tracking data to automatically configure your shipping rules. This helps identify the most likely ship-from location and carrier service, focusing on two main aspects.
AI pre-fills default shipping rules
For pre-purchase EDD application, the default shipping rules are mandatory. AI can help you calculate a default shipping rule utilizing your past 30 days of Shopify tracking data by identifying your most frequently used carrier service and location. If the generated default rule doesn't meet your needs, you can manually adjust it on the settings page to better align with your preferences.
AI creates custom shipping rule
Custom shipping rules allow you to specify detailed shipping instructions for particular products from specific ship-from locations. These rules are generated by AI analyzing your historical tracking data synced from Shopify, detailing carrier services used and destinations covered.
AI-powered custom shipping rules are updated weekly to reflect any new shipping behaviours based on the most recent data. Note that these rules apply only to products with valid tracking information from the past 30 days.
Navigate to Ship-from locations and rules in your AfterShip Tracking settings.
Make sure you have added all your shipping location to Tracking Location List .

If the default shipping rule is empty, click the Auto-fill button to apply AI-generated shipping rules. If the default shipping rule is already set, the “Auto-fill” option won’t appear.

In cases where neither a custom nor an AI shipping rule applies, your default shipping rule will be used, making it a mandatory component for EDD calculations.
Certainly, you can review the applied rule through the test tool. After entering the conditions, we will display the relevant shipping details along with the source of the rule (AI/Custom/Default).
If you find the AI rule to be inaccurate, you have the option to create a custom shipping rule that will supersede the AI-generated one.
We refresh the rule every week to ensure its relevance and accuracy.
